Planning for the Technological Disruption

December 7, 2022 from 8:30 am to 9:00 am

Session Description

The combination of new technologies and service models, for example autonomous vehicles, micromobility or new transit systems, is dramatically altering the landscape of how people view mobility, how they travel, and their associated travel attitudes, behavior and expectations. Transportation agencies and enterprises are re-evaluating their policy and regulatory frameworks, business-models, infrastructure plans, customer-service concepts and their organizational structures, skills and capacities. PIARC created a case study summary report to capture how transport agencies are responding to these technological innovations. This session will provide a readout on this topic.
