Guide for Identifying, Classifying, Evaluating, and Mitigating Truck Freight Bottlenecks | Guide/Manual, Research Report
Freight, System PerformanceTRB's National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Research Report 854: Guide for Identifying, Classifying, Evaluating, and Mitigating Truck Freight Bottlenecks provides transportation agencies state-of-the-practice information on truck freight bottlenecks using truck probe data rather than traditional travel demand models. The report embraces a broad definition of truck freight bottlenecks as any condition that acts as an impediment to efficient truck travel, whether the bottleneck is caused by infrastructure shortcomings, regulations, weather, or special events. The comprehensive classification of truck freight bottleneck types described in this report provides a standard approach for state departments of transportation, metropolitan planning organizations, and other practitioners to define truck freight bottlenecks and quantify their impacts.

Alabama 2040 Statewide Transportation Plan Final Report | Plan
Asset Management, Bridge, PavementThe Alabama DOT long-range plan outlines the state's transportation needs, finances and policies to 2040. It is a multimodal plan, evaluating not only the roads and bridges, but also the transit, freight, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, rail, aviation and waterways. The plan provides a macro-level assessment of the current and estimated future travel conditions, and then focuses on Alabama's policies and strategies for achieving their agency goals.
Arkansas Long Range Intermodal Transportation Plan | Plan
Arkansas's long range plan uses performance-based planning to evaluate the state's progress towards their long term transportation vision and goals. It includes analysis on all modes of transportation, including highways, bridges, public transit, rail, bicycle, pedestrian, ports, waterways and aviation. The plan analyzes the state of the transportation system and current trends to forecast the investment needs out to 2040. It culminates in a data-driven policy framework which aligns with the priorities of Department of Transportation's Strategic Plan.
Ohio DOT TAMP 2017 | Plan
Asset Management, Bridge, PavementODOT's first TAMP was developed for 2017. The development of this TAMP advanced ODOT’s asset management initiatives and prepares the agency to address the changing environment in which it operates. The TAMP also satisfied Federal legislation requiring all state DOTs to prepare a risk-based TAMP.
Using a Life Cycle Planning Process to Support Asset Management: FHWA Interim Guidance | Guide/Manual
Asset Management, Bridge, PavementThis document provides guidance on developing an initial lifecycle planning (LCP) process that satisfies the requirements in the Asset Management Rule and leads to the identification of an effective investment strategy for managing transportation assets. As agencies mature in their use of an LCP process it is
anticipated that they will be able to employ more sophisticated analysis tools and techniques.
Rulemaking Factsheet: On-Road Mobile Source Emissions Measure | Marketing/Communications, Research Report
EnvironmentThis factsheet summarizes the final rule for the measurement of total emissions reduction of on-road mobile source emissions through the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement (CMAQ) Program. State DOTs whose geographic boundaries include any part of a nonattainment or maintenance area for ozone, carbon monoxide, or particulate matter will establish separate targets for each of these applicable criteria pollutants and precursors. The measure does not apply to a State that does not have any of these nonattainment or maintenance areas.
Rulemaking Factsheet: Non-Single Occupancy Vehicle Travel Measure | Marketing/Communications, Research Report
Environment, System PerformanceThis factsheet summarizes the final rule for the measurement of non-single occupancy vehicle travel in specific urbanized areas. Initially, the rule applies to urbanized areas of more than 1 million people that are also in nonattainment or maintenance areas for ozone, carbon monoxide or particulate matter. In the second performance period (which begins on January 1, 2022), the population threshold changes to areas of more than 200,000. All States and MPOs with NHS mileage that overlaps within an applicable urbanized area must coordinate on a single, unified target and report on the measures for that area.
