Carmen Monroy from Stantec, PI for NCHRP 20-123(12), seeks your input to help shape the joint subcommittee’s strategic plan. We are hoping for broad and active participation to develop this important strategic plan, including a specific work plan, action plan, and research plan. - 2:30pm: Presentation on NHTSA Standing General Order on Crash Reporting, NHTSA Staff
In June 2021, NHTSA had issued a Standing General Order (the General Order) requiring identified manufacturers and operators to report to the agency certain crashes involving vehicles equipped with automated driving systems or SAE Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems. Prior to the implementation of the General Order, NHTSA’s sources of timely crash notifications were limited and generally inconsistent across manufacturers, including developers. On June 15, 2022, NHTSA released a first report on ADS crash data that the agency received under the General Order. This session will provide an overview of initial performance data and results. - 3:00pm: Closing
