Biography
Loren has been serving as the Chief Operating Officer for the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) for the last four years. As the COO, she oversees the Project Management, Planning, Finance, Transit, Contracts, and Real Estate. Loren has more than 15 years of experience in accountancy and began her career at F & F Associates, a private accounting firm in Cranston RI. After 9 years in private industry, she made a career move to government when she was chosen to assist on the transition team for Mayor Napolitano when he was elected Mayor for the City of Cranston. Following that, she was hired by the Mayor’s Administration to assist the Finance Director in the day-to-day Finance tasks. In 2007 she as a Senior Accountant in the Grants section of Financial Management RIDOT. In 2015, she took on the role of Chief Financial Officer, where she was responsible for not only all Finance tasks including the Capital and Operating budgets, but to also oversee the Contracts and Specifications section as well as the Training, IT and Human Resources section. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Bryant University and a Master of Professional Accountancy degree from the Rhode Island College. Loren was born and raised in Rhode Island and currently resides in Johnston with her husband. She enjoys all this state has to offer and gives back to the community any chance she gets.
