Biography

Lori obtained her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology and remained in North Carolina for a few years before returning to Rhode Island where she began her career in the Behavioral Health Field at the Kent Count Mental Health Center. While holding numerous positions over the 17 plus year career, she obtained her MBA and made the decision to shift career paths. Following a three-year period as a Budget Analyst for the Rhode Island General Assembly’s House of Representatives, Lori began working for RIDOT in August of 2011. She worked for a short period of time in the Financial Management Section and Contract Administration before she transitioned to lead the newly created Office of Performance Management in May 2012. A position that she held for nearly 5 years before being tapped to lead the Project Management group in 2017. Since that time Lori has served as the Manager of Project Management and since 2020 as the Administrator of Project Management. The Project Management Division is responsible for the execution of the 10 - year plan which has currently executed 203 projects since its inception, and pumped $3.2 billion into this small state’s economy. The Division is also responsible for the generation of the Departments quarterly report which is mandated as part of the RHODEWORKS legislation. The report is what keeps the Department accountable and transparent and details project information and must be submitted to the House of Representatives, Senate and Office of Management and Budget every quarter.
