Biography
Michael Pipp, CDMP, is Chief Data Officer for the Montana Dept. of Transportation working from its Information Services Division where he leads initiatives on data policy, governance, and data warehousing. Prior to joining MDT, Michael’s career spanned snow science, avalanche forecasting and control, hydrology, water quality modeling, water quality restoration planning and managing programs in water quality data management, QA/QC, library and information science, stormwater permitting, and computer systems development. He has worked with environmental and water quality data for 30+ years and transportation data now for almost 3 years. He has degrees in Natural Resources Management and Earth Sciences from Colorado
