Biography
Director Kristina Swallow, P.E., was appointed in 2019 to serve as the Director of the Nevada Department of Transportation, where she is responsible for overseeing the highway system and leading a dedicated and talented team of approximately 1,800 people. Director Swallow, a civil engineer by trade and former president of the American Society of Civil Engineers, joined NDOT with more than 25 years of diverse experience. She has been a small business owner, a consultant, a program manager in city government, and served in the U.S. Senate as a transportation policy advisor. Currently serving as the President of WASHTO, she is excited to be an active voice promoting a transportation system that works for all members in our communities. Fun fact, she rode across the country on a motorcycle twice.
